Paying tribute to precious Quinn
Today family and a small group of close friends met in Santa Monica as we all celebrated the special life of Quinn. Even though she lived only 1 year, her impact on her family and friends was huge. The tribute to Quinn today was filled with tears larger than the universe. A special friend to the family read many tributes that all whom attended prepared. They were all filled with admiration for the joy and love that Quinn spread to all of those who met her. Her smile was one of her special gifts to the world. Her courage was another gift she gave to all of us. We have all forever been changed by her love, courage and contagious smiles.
In addition to family and friends who attended todays celebration of her life, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital had in attendance one of her primary care doctors and nurses and a social worker. They had all fallen in love with Quinn. The family is grateful to each of them and the hospital facility at UCLA for their care and their amazing love. If love enough could have cured Quinn , their love was surely enough.
At the end of Quinn’s loving tribute, lady bugs were released and set free into the natural surroundings at Santa Monica Beach. We then each took a red rose and walked through the sand to the breaking waves. We each walked to the edge and tossed our rose into the ocean. It was a deeply touching moment for all of us. Quinn’s grandfather walked waist deep into the ocean before he released his rose. That was certainly one of the most tender moments for all of us.
Quinn is at peace now and her suffering is over. The pain and suffering of Paul and Cathy , Quinn’s parents, are just beginning. I hope and pray they will find peace as their lives move on.
A special thanks to everyone who prayed for Quinn . Please continue by praying for Paul and Cathy.
