Clean Water: A Global Health Crisis

September 27, 2013

Did you know that according to water.org:

More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes.   Nearly all deaths, 99 percent, occur in the developing world.

Lack of access to clean water and sanitation kills children at a rate equivalent of a jumbo jet crashing every four hours.

780 million people lack access to an improved water source; approximately one in nine people.

[The water and sanitation] crisis claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns.

These are a few of the important reasons we are committed to building solar water wells throughout Haiti.  With your support, we can change the world, one cup of clean water at a time.  The photos below from our most recent project in Recife, Haiti, say more than thousands of words ever could.

Nearing completion, families are already starting to enjoy clean water in Recife.

It is truly amazing the joy that a simple cup of clean water can bring...a life-changing moment captured on film.

These children are one reason we are committed to bringing even more solar wells to Haiti.
