Relief and Joy!

February 12, 2015

We are filled with gratitude and relief that the tensions in Haiti have eased enough to enable the drilling team to safely arrive at the village of Bois-D’orme.  This means that, for the time being our friends and all of the villagers in Haiti that we work with and those we have yet to meet, are safe as well.  Gratitude…relief…these words don’t really capture the feeling in our hearts.
We are also filled with joy that the drilling on our new solar water well in Bois-D’orme has started. We received these photos from the project and could not wait to share them with you.

Positioning the drill as the villagers of Bois-D’orme look on, knowing that soon they will finally have clean water.

After border tensions delayed our work, we are delighted that today, drilling commenced.

These pipes will bring clean water from our solar water well to these villagers, and help prevent numerous water-borne illnesses. We are so grateful to be able to help the people of Bois-D’orme village.

The villagers were so excited to see work begin that everyone joined in to help however they could.

As word spread that the digging was about to start, villagers arrived in groups to watch this momentous day unfold.

We appreciate your continued support, and hope that if you haven’t yet done so, you will order your T-shirt today so that we can continue our work to bring clean water to these beautiful people.
With gratitude,
Michael and Frida Donner
