The mission of the Barco’s Nightingales Foundation is to support the vitality and courageous heart of nursing, while also dedicating ourselves to honoring the spirit of those women and men who choose nursing. We continue our commitment as an advocate for nurses by encouraging the media to change and fight the “stereotypes” of nurses and to promote the actual face of nurses – their education and their professionalism as nurses.

Each year, the Barco’s Nightingales Foundation Nurse of the Year is awarded to a nurse whose dedication in the workplace and in the volunteer arena highlight the qualities found in the profession. Each month on our website, we share stories submitted by nurses from across the country. This year we plan to continue these programs and expand our support of nurses by publishing “Letters from Nurses” and awarding scholarships to qualified nursing students.
