Katy Kolbeck
Katy has over 30 years of experience as an electrical engineer, project manager, and engineering principal. She served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Dunham Associates, a mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm, for nearly 15 years,
Katy retired from the engineering field in 2011, and since that time has been an active Board member of several non-profit organizations in the Twin Cities. Her focus has been children—using her leadership skills to promote the safety of families through her work with Cornerstone, and STEM/Engineering education for kids in grades K-6 through The Works. She also regularly mentors young professionals and is a member of the Board of Governors for the University of St. Thomas Engineering School.
Since becoming a friend and supporter of BNF, Katy has been to Haiti on our yearly visit and on her own to investigate the possibilities of building other solar powered water wells in remote Haiti. By tapping her network of engineering colleagues and friends, Katy hopes to help BNF expand and improve the water systems for the people of southeast Haiti.
Katy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University, and lives with her family in the Minneapolis area.
