"A life changing moment for nearly 424 members of our extended family."
We were blessed in having 424 members of our extended family show up and walk with us. It was an amazing moment for everyone. We all had such a good time and further strengthened our bond as a community of compassion. The heart and soul of each of us was unified in our commitment to help the less fortunate. With the amount we collected, we will be able to pay for 150 surgeries for children in need and 35 children with cancer will be able to go to the Ronald McDonald Camp. Watching the faces of those who attended was a gift. The smiles and passion for life was so evident. You could feel the power of their prayers. You could feel the gifts of love from young children as well as the parents and the grandparents who walked as a family.
I will be posting many of the photos taken so you can see for yourself what this community of compassion looks like. We are planning on walking again next year and hope to see even more join us. A heartfelt thanks to those who contributed to our cause and for this whose prayers were answered.
I was especially touched with the children who participated. Many of our walkers were children. 2 young sisters, who got caught up in the desire to make a difference in the lives of children in need of medical help, went to school with a cause to raise money and help the kids in need. They were able to raise nearly $700. What an amazing moment for all of us.
I was also thrilled when each of our 4 grandchildren, went to their bank accounts on their own and donated money. This will pay for 2 life-changing surgeries. Another child that walked on Sunday also donated money from his bank account. How proud we are for all the children and their families whose young children became a part of our community of caring.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us help more children.
