When Courage Wins
A couple of years ago, I visited Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times and had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with the kids with cancer that attended the camp. Their energy and spirit touched me beyond my expectations. The walls and campsite were filled with words of encouragement like,”Effort only fully releases it’s reward after a person REFUSES to quit.” – Napoleon Hill.
I received the other day an amazing story of Camarah who had mobility restrictions and was in a walker. With the help and encouragement of the counselors, campers, and her resilient courage, she made the impossible happen. The last 2 days of camp, she did not need the walker and to the applause of everyone, she walked. Please read her story in this link that I have provided.
On April 7th, 2013, Barco’s Nightingales will be walking with Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times Walk for Kids. Our goal is to raise money for campers like Camarah to go to camp; surgeries for children with burns and/or cleft palate and to build another solar water well in Haiti. If you are interested, please go to ‘Nightingales Walk‘ on this website to see how you can help.
