400 Pounds of Clothing…

February 11, 2014

During our trip to Haiti in February 2014, we gave out nearly 500 outfits and T-shirts to school children and their families.  Denisse Casales and Vicki Little spent hours organizing the clothes to be sure we could help as many families as possible.  All together, we brought nearly 400 pounds of clothing.  I want to extend a special thanks to my daughter Debbie who collected nearly 150 pounds of beautiful children’s clothing from businesses she works with.

Handing out the clothing took nearly 1 and one half hours.  We were running low, so Phil Little went to a town across the border from Haiti in the Dominican Republic and returned with even more garments.  Unfortunately and quite sadly, we still ran out before every child received something.  I know that the next time, we will not run short.

The children, like these two girls wearing outfits we brought for them, were so happy and grateful, it was truly an exciting day.

This was a life-changing moment.
