In May of this year, we joined with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to raise money through a Facebook Friendraiser.  For every person who joined Barco’s Nightingales Foundation’s growing community of followers on Facebook, we pledged a donation of $5.00 to the foundation.  We are delighted to announce that, with your help, we are donating more than $10,000.00 to this amazing organization.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption performs an indispensable service by working very closely with children waiting for permanent families.  They focus on older children and children who have been in foster care for long periods of time.  These children are harder to place in adoptive families for a number of reasons and thus need more attention and effort.
These children are referred by agencies to the Case Workers employed by the Foundation.  These Case Workers meet with the children and their foster parents and develop plans and goals. As of April 2014, The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has been instrumental in coordinating over 4,100 successful adoptions across the United States and Canada.
Barco’s Nightingales Foundation is pleased to work with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The funds raised through this challenge help the Foundation to continue its important work on behalf of all children in foster care. After all, every child deserves a permanent and loving home.
