In reading a recent article from Wilkes University, we found it interesting that while much has not changed about nursing, the five top trends expected in 2015 go beyond traditional healthcare.

Here are the top five trends affecting nursing identified in the article:

1. Impact of chronic disease on health care
2. Demand for degreed nurses
3. More job opportunities for nurse educators
4. Employment opportunities for nurses beyond hospitals
5. Nurses adopting wearable technology

As we expand our work this year with the university community, we will share new and updated perspectives on these trends, and how they impact our volunteer nurses as well.
