I am so proud to share this heartwarming story from one of our most ardent supporters, Denisse Casales.

In my 1st trip to Haiti last year (right around this time), I met this little girl- Joidline at only 4 years old, she was running around with no clothes, I asked Rafael why she was not attending school? Like most kids in Haiti her parents financially could not afford to do so. I immediately fell in love with her, she has such a great personality already at 4 yrs old, we locked eyes and she jumped in my arms, almost as if we knew each other.

Staying connected…. I wanted to make a difference in her life because she had changed my life from the moment I met her. I mailed a check to pay for her education for 1 year and I also wanted her to have something of her own that she didn’t have to share. I put together a few items to ship to her to Haiti a few months ago which included a doll, back pack, shoes, clothes. Rafael has been nice enough to keep me updated and send me pictures. And, he made sure she got the backpack full of goodies. I’m looking forward to our next visit and spending more time with my little friend.
