Teams Gearing Up for the Walk for Kids

February 24, 2015

We are so excited at the early support we are getting for the 2015 Walk for Kids to be held April 12. Over the next few weeks we will be introducing some of our teams and their captains.  Today, we’d like you to meet the SOUP – A – STARS with team captains Teresa Chaves and Denisse Casales, and DREAM WEAVERS with captains Jose Delgado and Iris Amano.
Denisse tell us…

“I decided to start a team because I have invested time and fallen in love with this foundation, especially helping with the project of building water wells in Haiti (I have been fortunate to travel to Haiti in 2014 with Michael Donner and have another trip scheduled for spring of 2015). I always knew I wanted to give back to someone less fortunate and I have found it with Nightingales! I’m passionate about making a difference because they have changed my life forever and have helped me see a different world I did not know existed (we take so much for granted when these people have nothing but they are always smiling and have never lost their faith). I have a personal relationship with the people from Haiti and I can’t wait to help…Teresa and I picked the team name, we wanted something that was fun like “Soup-A-Stars” also because I think Teresa is one.”

Jose says…
Instead of watching from the sidelines, I wanted to step onto to the field and help make a difference. Remember there are two types of people, those who watch others make a difference and those who make it happen. We all have dreams with different needs, I just want to help weave a dream, and make it a reality for a less fortunate person, GO DREAM WEAVERS!
