Dawn M. Yost, RDH, RN, BSN, CNOR
Dawn Yost has spent most of her career in the operating room at West Virginia University Hospitals. She has been a staff nurse, a clinical preceptor and manager. Her professional involvement in nursing organizations includes membership in the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) since 1983. She has been a delegate to the AORN Congress many times, has served on task forces and committees, presented posters and co-authored “Back to Basics” about infection control in the OR. She has also been a champion for the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) for many years and has served on its board of directors.
Dawn has been a volunteer with ReSurge since 1994 and has been on 16 trips to Ecuador, Peru, Africa, Honduras, Nepal, Myanmar and Vietnam, serving as head nurse on most of them. She is currently a member of the Nursing, Quality Assurance and Medical Services committees for ReSurge. On an ongoing basis, she also actively collects unused operating room supplies and sends them to the ReSurge corporate office for use on trips.
